Master your sales in 3 steps

WHAT ARE YOU SELLING-How do you become successful at sales without continuing learning on your product?the more knowledge you have on your product as well as it peripherals, the easy you are able to sell  from different perspectives to prospective clients. Sales personnel are  mostly the least with knowledge on technical aspect  of product. There is no successful sales without adequate product/service knowledge .Knowing what you are selling is the surest means of becoming a successful sales personnel



WHO IS BUYING-After successfully acquiring knowledge on what you are selling ,your next stage is who are you selling to?i don't accept the notion of not everyone is your customer so target customer segment. In as much as that principle is applied in the professional sense i believe everyone becomes your customer eventually .Because customers are not only those that holds the purchasing power but there are influencers ,gatekeeper etc in the sale process, that may effect sales or not. So my recommendation as sales personnel, learn to embrace everyone and this will follow up with my last step how to sell to them.



THE HOW-Just as i explained in my earlier steps, success in sale premise on the knowing how to sell. You may know what you are selling and even know who you are selling to, but if you don't know how to sell and who you are selling to , success in sales will always be a challenge. This goes on to make my point, you should consider everyone as your customer. Because as i stated earlier ,if  you know you are selling to a decision or  influencer of product in the cause of your sales process, you will appreciate who you are selling to and what to communicate in convincing the person in moving unto the next stage of the process. As a sales personnel, selling differently to different customers is key in succeeding in sales.So never underestimate any one in the sales channel process and carefully craft means of manoeuvring in every stage of the process
